Clay का Stress History कैसे Determine करें? | Soil Consolidation in Hindi

Clay soils का behavior उनके past stress history पर काफी निर्भर करता है। यह जानना जरूरी होता है कि clay ने पहले कितना stress सहा है और वर्तमान stress से उसका relation क्या है। Soil consolidation और settlement analysis के लिए Clay का Stress History determine करना महत्वपूर्ण होता है।

Stress History का महत्व

Stress history से पता चलता है कि soil normally consolidated है या over-consolidated।

• Normally Consolidated Clay: जब present effective stress = maximum past stress।
• Over-Consolidated Clay: जब past में soil ने present से ज्यादा stress सहा हो।

Stress History Determine करने की Methods

1. Oedometer Test (Consolidation Test)

Lab में consolidation test करके soil sample पर load increment दिया जाता है और settlement record किया जाता है। इससे pre-consolidation pressure determine किया जा सकता है।

2. Casagrande Method

Casagrande graphical method सबसे common है जिसमें e-log p curve (void ratio vs. log pressure) का प्रयोग करके pre-consolidation pressure निकाला जाता है।

3. Field Tests

Cone penetration test (CPT), pressuremeter test, और vane shear test जैसे field methods से भी soil का stress history indirectly पता लगाया जा सकता है।

Over-Consolidation Ratio (OCR)

OCR = Pre-consolidation pressure / Present effective overburden pressure

OCR soil की stress history को define करता है।

• OCR = 1 → Normally consolidated soil
• OCR > 1 → Over-consolidated soil
