CI Engine में Combustion के Stages

Compression Ignition (CI) Engine, जिसे आमतौर पर Diesel Engine कहा जाता है, में combustion process spark plug के बिना होता है। इसमें fuel को high-pressure पर cylinder में inject किया जाता है, जहां compressed hot air के संपर्क में आने से fuel खुद-ब-खुद ignite हो जाता है। इस process को अलग-अलग stages में बांटा जा सकता है।

CI Engine में Combustion के मुख्य Stages

1. Ignition Delay Period

यह stage fuel injection की शुरुआत से लेकर fuel के actual ignition होने तक का समय होता है। इस दौरान fuel atomize होकर air के साथ mix होता है और required temperature पर पहुंचते ही जलना शुरू करता है।

• Duration: लगभग 0.002 सेकंड
• इस stage की लंबाई engine speed, temperature और fuel properties पर निर्भर करती है।

2. Uncontrolled Combustion

इस stage में वह fuel जलता है जो ignition delay के दौरान cylinder में accumulate हुआ था। Pressure अचानक तेजी से बढ़ता है, जिससे knocking की संभावना होती है।

• Fast heat release
• High pressure rise rate
• Knocking tendency अधिक

3. Controlled Combustion

इस stage में fuel का burning rate control में रहता है क्योंकि अब fuel injection और combustion एक साथ हो रहा होता है। Power output का मुख्य हिस्सा यहीं से आता है।

• Smoother pressure rise
• Better efficiency
• Knocking कम

4. After Burning

इस stage में वह fuel जलता है जो controlled combustion के दौरान पूरी तरह नहीं जला था। यह exhaust stroke तक जारी रह सकता है।

• Late combustion
• Heat loss बढ़ सकता है
• Incomplete combustion से emissions बढ़ सकते हैं
