Unit Impulse Response वह response है जो system किसी unit impulse force (Dirac delta function δ(t)) के applied होने पर दिखाता है। यह mechanical और structural vibration analysis में fundamental tool है।
1. Definition
Unit impulse response h(t) linear system की behavior describe करता है। Impulse input एक instantaneously applied force है जिसका magnitude 1 unit होता है और duration infinitesimal होता है।
F(t) = δ(t) → x(t) = h(t)
2. Importance in Vibration Analysis
- Any arbitrary input response x(t) = convolution of h(t) और input force F(t)
- Impulse response system की dynamic characteristics determine करता है
- Natural frequency, damping ratio, और transient response को evaluate करना आसान होता है

Underdamped SDOF system में:

जहाँ m = mass, ζ = damping ratio, ωₙ = natural frequency, ωd = damped natural frequency
