Power Alcohol and Biodiesel (वैकल्पिक ईंधन)

Power Alcohol वह Fuel है जो Ethyl Alcohol (Ethanol) तथा Petrol के मिश्रण से तैयार किया जाता है और Internal Combustion Engines में उपयोग किया जाता है।
सामान्यतः Petrol में 5% से 25% तक Ethanol मिलाकर Power Alcohol तैयार किया जाता है।

Sugar या Molasses को Yeast की सहायता से Ferment किया जाता है।
C₆H₁₂O₆ → 2C₂H₅OH + 2CO₂
Step 2: Distillation
Fermented Solution से Ethanol को Distillation द्वारा पृथक किया जाता है।
Step 3: Blending
Ethanol को Petrol के साथ निश्चित अनुपात में मिलाया जाता है।
यह मिश्रण Power Alcohol कहलाता है।
