  • Heat used in steam generation
  • Heat loss in flue gases
  • Heat loss to surrounding (radiation & convection)
  • Heat loss due to moisture in fuel
  • Heat loss due to incomplete combustion

मान लीजिए fuel का calorific value 30000 kJ/kg है और 1 kg fuel से 10 kg steam produce होती है:

  • Heat supplied = 1 × 30000 = 30000 kJ
  • Heat used in steam = 10 × (2760 – 200) = 25600 kJ
  • Efficiency = (25600 / 30000) × 100 ≈ 85.3%
